Chiropractic Techniques

At Cove Chiropractic we always tailor treatments based on the individual and we treat all joints and muscles not just back pain, headaches, neck and spine.

We predominately use low force techniques, the most popular being the Activator Method and Pain Neutralisation
Technique but we also use Manual Adjusting  (Spinal Manipulative Therapy), Applied Kinesiology and the Emotion Code, Blocking and Cranial Techniques.

Activator Methods

Activator AMCT Hallett Cove ChiropracticThe activator is a small handheld spring-loaded adjustment instrument which delivers a small impulse to the spine in order to move the vertebrae; it is used as an alternative to manual manipulation of the spine.

The instrument is very low force and delivers a fast, effective, targeted adjustment to a specific area.

The Activator Method is one of the most widely-researched chiropractic techniques.  It is the only instrument adjusting technique with clinical trials to support its efficacy.

A methodology (protocol) has been developed for its use and being so gentle this is ideal for general use but specifically useful for treating pregnant women, children and the elderly.

Manual Adjusting

(Spinal Manipulation Therapy (SMT) or Diversified Adjustments)

Manual SMT Hallett Cove ChiropracticManual adjustment is one of the most universally recognised chiropractic treatments.

It involves manipulation of appropriate spinal joints and is commonly referred to as ‘Cracking’ because when treated with this technique it is common to hear or feel a release of gas from the fluid of the joint also known as the crack!

Despite the sounds that may be generated, when performed with skilled hands, it is usually a relatively painless procedure that can give immediate relief.
