Personalised Chiropractic Care in Hallett Cove
With a wide variety of chiropractic techniques available, often no two chiropractors are the same. At Cove Chiro, we will tailor-make your treatment plan based around your individual circumstances. We treat all the joints and muscles not just chronic back, pain neck and headaches.
We regularly treat repetitive strain injury (RSI), tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, aching hands and knee pain so please mention all areas where you are feeling pain or discomfort.
Cove Chiro offers a wide range of Chiropractic techniques as detailed below but often find that most patients respond well to activator or manual adjusting (also known as cracking or spinal manipulative therapy), combined with Pain Neutralisation Technique. However, if you have had good results using a particular technique e.g. blocking or cranial techniques, we would be happy to continue your treatment using that technique.
Low Force Chiropractic – Activator Methods
Chiropractic treatments that use an activator are often described as low force techniques. So instead of the chiropractor manually moving/adjusting the joint, a small handheld device called an activator is used. The activator is spring loaded and designed to deliver a fast, and precisely targeted impulse adjustment to a specific area in order to mobilise the joint. It is fast, effective and gentle making it ideal for general practise but specifically useful for treating pregnant women, children and the elderly. The Activator Method is one of the most widely-researched chiropractic techniques and is the only instrument adjusting technique with clinical trials to support its efficacy.
Manual Adjusting Chiropractic
Manual adjusting is most commonly referred to as ‘cracking’ but is also known as SMT – spinal manipulative therapy or diversified technique, and is one of the most universally recognised chiropractic treatments.
It involves manual manipulation of appropriate spinal joints and is commonly referred to as ‘Cracking’ because when treated with this technique it is common to hear or feel a release of gas from the fluid of the joint which makes a cracking sound.
Despite the sounds that may be generated, when performed with the skilled hands of a chiropractor, it is usually a relatively painless procedure that can give immediate relief.
Pain Neutralisation Technique – Making Life Comfortable
Pain Neutralisation Technique uses the bodies reflex system to treat contraction knots and tightness in the muscles. It is a gentle low force trigger point treatment that works by stimulating a specific neurological reflex which causes the muscle to relax reducing pain and tightness. Visit our Pain Neutralisation page for more information.
Applied Kinesiology – helping create balance in the body
Applied Kinesiology considers three diffrent elements that can contribute to an illness. It considers structural issues, chemical issues (toxity or deficiency) and emotional issues. It draws on principals from chiropractic, homeopathy, nutrition and Chinese medicine to provide more holistic approach to illness. Check out or Applied Kinesiology page for more details.
